Palm Sunday Service at Christ Church
Family worship service, with songs, blessing the palm crosses, prayers, and the story of Jesus coming to Jerusalem through the crowds waving palm branches. Come along and wave our fun palm 'branches/leaves' that have been pre crafted out of hand shapes.
Midweek Eucharist at Christ Church
Wednesday 1st April, 11.30am. Spoken communion service (no hymns), with prayers for those who have requested healing prayers. Bible readings.
Maundy Thursday Service
Traditional Maundy Thursday Service recalling the Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples. With Holy Communion and symbolic footwashing by the ministers for those who wish to receive this. The service concludes with the dramatic reading of Jesus' betrayal, and the 'stripping of the altar'. Followed by silent candlelit prayer vigil. Church open until 9.30pm).
Good Friday Walk from Christ Church to Newsholme
Meet at Christ Church for hot cross buns and a cuppa at 1.30pm. Then walk to St. John's Newsholme, with short prayers on the way. Arriving in time for the Good Friday Liturgy at 2.30pm at St. John's Church in Newsholme. Readings and hymns telling the story of Jesus' last days and his sacrifice. Everyone welcome.
The Good Friday Liturgy @St. John's Newsholme
Traditional Good Friday Liturgy at 2.30pm. Readings and hymns accompanied by the organ, telling the story of Jesus' last days and his sacrifice. Everyone welcome. (Many will be joining this service having walked from Christ Church Oakworth. If you wish to join their walk they are meeting at Christ Church at 1.30pm for hot cross buns and drinks before walking to St. John's for this Good Friday service at 2.30pm).
The Easter Liturgy Saturday 4th
Beginning outside to light the Easter fire and the new paschal candle. Carrying the candle inside the church to continue this ancient traditional candlelit service, recalling the salvation story through scriptures and song. The darkness of the cross is put behind us as we celebrate Christ's Resurrection with the first Eucharist (communion) of Easter and make a joyful noise of thanksgiving!

Come and celebrate Easter Day with us at this family communion service, with readings, prayers and short talk. Songs will be sung/led by the Christ Church music group.

Bring the whole family to this popular community event to make your own Easter Craft items. All you will need is supplied free, just pop in between 10am and 12 noon. There will also be an EASTER EGG HUNT. Stalls and refreshments!
