Home Groups

There are three different home group meetings. Each one meets fortnightly. They are held in different venues, mostly in a member of the congregation's home. A very relaxed, informal setting to explore together what the Bible writings and their message means to us today. A great opportunity to question, to discuss, to learn, to listen, to grow our spiritual understanding in a non academic setting, over refreshments.

Monday Afternoon: 2pm. At Christ Church Oakworth. The group have been looking at James, Hosea, and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Usually meet each FIRST AND THIRD Monday each month.
Wednesday Evening: 7.30pm - 9pm. At The Aston's home. The group have been looking at the book of James. Usually meet each FIRST AND THIRD Wednesday each month.
Thursday Evening: 7.30pm - 9pm. At The Vicarage. The group have been looking at the Psalms with the book 'Journalling the Psalms' by Paula Gooder. Usually meet each SECOND AND FOURTH Thursdays each month.

Some reasons given by people when asked 'why they don't attend a home group' include
"I haven't been invited" and "I don't know enough about church stuff or the Bible to attend".

Apologies if you haven't been invited personally or whether you reckon to be a theological fountain of knowedge or know nothing at all, it should certainly not be a barrier to attending! Being at different stages in our own life and faith contributes to the uniqueness of home groups.
