Oakworth Church

Explorers Club

Offering experiences and Christian teaching to young people is an important aspect
of Christian Mission.

At Christ Church the Children's Sunday Club 'Explorers'
have been following the stories from 'Friends and Heroes'
http://www.friendsandheroes.com/uk/lesson-materials (for more information).

Our young people have been working hard over the last few months to create this amazing biblical map.

In support of our Christ Church Challenge fundraising our young people have made this model to illustrate what Christ Church is all about and what it needs to continue to be a great place for all.

The Explorers Club have also created a mosaic depicting The Last Supper.

The completed mosaic below was part of the Holden Art Club Exhibition in October 2016.

All children are of course very welcome to attend all of our Sunday Services.
We also have a supervised, fun and creative area at the back of the main church
during the Sunday services for children to take part in learning and play.

Please keep an eye on our News and Events and Calendar for the latest updates!
Or you can follow our 'Oakworth Parish Churches' Facebook page for regular
posts and updates! Or if you have any questions about our Young People mission,
please feel free to get in touch (Contacts page).

Below are some pictures of the craft display that the children have made - 'An Easter Garden'.

We have good links with the primary schools in the Parish and our vicars lead assemblies there.

The Holiday Club for primary aged youngsters - the last one being Space Academy, have proved
very popular. Please look at the photographs of some amazing rockets in the Photos section.

Sponsorship of young people to experience mission in other countries continues to be an
important aspect of our church's' support and giving, including supporting two of our young
people to join a group from the Diocese visiting our link Diocese in West Virginia in USA.

We have also sponsored our youngsters to attend Excite Holidays run by Scripture Union.

Our craft mornings at Christmas and Easter are always well-attended.

The Friday Film Nights which are held during Autumn and Winter months (on darker evenings)
are very popular with families of all ages. The films shown are suitable for all ages and it is free.

Please see our Calendar and Events pages for regular updates.
