MU Local - national - international

Locally:
Activities include: Knitting Teddies for hospitals, police and fire brigade (they use these to help to calm children where necessary); Helping with reading in schools; Supporting needy families in need of a holiday; Joining in prayer chains and national campaigns around the world. See below for the latest Mothers' Union National Campaign. The Mothers' Union has 3000 members across the Diocese of Leeds.
 

Nationally:
Latest global Mothers' Union Campaign

There will be a NATIONAL 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER BASED VIOLENCE.
From November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) until 10th December (International Human Rights Day). The Oakworth Mothers' Union are hoping to raise awareness in support of this campaign.

Internationally:
Works to serve Christ and financially support initiatives throughout the world. The Mothers' Union works to bring justice and better conditions to where there is a need in our society. Support and improve family life. 

  

 

Mothers' Union begins every year in a 'Wave of Prayer'.
"The Mothers’ Union’s 3000 members across the diocese will be lighting candles and praying for fellow members as the diocese takes its turn in  a world-wide ‘Wave of Prayer’. From 8th-10th January the Diocese of Leeds Mothers’ Union will be picking up the baton from the Diocese of Norwich and taking part in a continuous 24/7 prayer commitment for branches around the world which began in 1921. Special services will be held in Mothers’ Union branches and diocesan MU members will be asked to particularly pray for the Diocesan link branches in Rwanda, Nigeria, Lesotho and the Soloman Islands. http://www.leeds.anglican.org/news/three-thousand-mu-members-take-part-wave-prayer.
